Oh my! So much to report! Let’s start at the beginning.
In March, my poem “There is a Creature in the Desert with the Sharpest Claws” was featured on Drunk Monkeys, alongside some really awesome writers. Check it out, check it all out. It’s all gold.
In late March I traveled to Los Angeles, my home away from home, for AWP. I love, California, it is no secret, and I stayed out there for a week after the conference was over, getting inspired and eating a lot of food. I made some great connections and met some great people, and saw a lot of friends from Antioch that I hadn’t seen in ages. I took the time to really reflect on things that have been happening in my personal life, and I think I am a little clearer- headed because of it.
I have never been more inspired than I was in Joshua Tree, watching all the stars that are usually hidden by the LA light pollution come out to play. I am hoping this inspiration stays with me for a long time, now that I am back in MA.
Aside from that I will be looking for more paid work as well as hopefully getting on with my writing and submissions. I feel hopeful, and I am happy.
