Hello! Happy mid-August. Two things to report:

My flash fiction piece, The Way It Is Now, was featured in the inaugural issue of Rabid Oak. Thank you to Matthew Woodman for snagging it!  I had a hard time placing it, and I am guessing the subject matter is why, though I don’t usually write fiction so who knows. I am so happy it has a home, and I am excited to see Rabid Oak grow.

The latest epsiode of The Literary Whip podcast features…ME! Lise Quintana and I discuss “David Bowie: Sound and Vision” by Julie Greenberg. I hate the sound of my own voice, and since I never shut up, I apologize to the world.

That’s all!

My writing and submitting, I guess, is paying off, since my poem “Lovely Frances” (about Frances Bean Cobain) was accepted for the December issue of Yellow Chair Review. I have a few more things out in the ether and I am thinking of finding places to send my manuscript.

I am not a fiction writer at all but I wrote out a draft of a short story that I think was fairly successful. Since I have been kicking around an idea for a long form story, I may try my hand at NaNoWrMo, if only for the structure and discipline in writing every day as opposed to drinking and watching reruns of Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
