Part of the reason I’m behind on these little write ups (again) is that I had a very busy weekend. I was at a party Saturday night to celebrate the Fangoria Compendium, a project that was overseen by my beautiful pal Meredith, and then Sunday we all went to Disneyland (Meredith and her husband live in Germany, so it’s not like she’s around all the time). My body is pretty busted up from all that activity tbh. I’m still recovering!
The party offered free wine and your girl had exactly three glasses, something I have not done in literal years at this point. Wow wow wow was I in a funny mood!

But unfortunately that meant I had little patience for whatever Speaking of Sex was. I was not locked in.
This is one of those movies where everyone is super dysfunctional and having sex with each other and it’s from 2001 which means that Jay Mohr was just coming off his stint as the cross dressing killer in Cherry Falls, which is kinda funny I guess. Spader is a regular therapist and Laura Flynn Boyle is a sex therapist and Mohr is having problems with his wife, and Megan Mullally is there and so is Nick Offerman. Here’s a picture of them I keep on my phone.

Anyway, this movie was a bit too madcap for my drunken state. It’s fast and zany and I was not in the mood. I tried to refresh my memory but even the Wikipedia entry left me wanting. They can’t all be winners, I guess.
I think in the end it all works out for everyone. It doesn’t seem to be on Tubi. If you watch it let me know if I should give it another whirl.
