Bad Influence is probably the biggest will-they-won’t-they of the homoerotic Spader films in this little three-day stint. In it, Spader plays a real fuckin dweeb (Michael) who can’t stand up for himself and guess what? He gets badly influenced by Rob Lowe (Alex), who I’m told was embroiled in the underage sex tape scandal at the time (I know that happened, I just didn’t know when it happened).

Anyway, Alex is all “cheat on your fiancee! Let’s rob a liquor store! I stole all your furniture! Let’s almost kill your coworker!” But never once does he try to suck Michael’s dick Not a good time!! For Michael, but especially for me.

Eventually Alex does kill this hot gal named Claire who was down to clown with both bros, a woman after my own heart. Alex frames Michael for this too and poor Mikey and his loser brother dump her in the La Brea tar pits. If you know me you know I love Los Angeles with every beat of my stupid, fucked up heart, so this delighted me. Also his brother’s name is Pismo and, having taken my kid to Pismo beach over the summer, I was equally tickled by that.

I’m going to be honest with you now, since we’re such good friends: I’m getting a little bit of Spader fatigue. Actually, scratch that… I’m not getting tired of Spader, but these little write ups are getting harder to write. Maybe the tv run will rejuvenate me.

But Bad Influence is super fun and worth a whirl. And you’ll never guess what… it’s on Tubi!!! Have fun with it.
