I’m gonna be real with you: this movie is not very good.

Apparently, Critical Care is based on a novel, but I would have bet my boots that it was based on a stage play. Look how white and empty that hospital room is! Every scene in a hospital room is like that. At one point I thought they were on a spaceship.

Maybe I thought it was based on a play because Sidney Lumet directed it, and I know he started in the theater scene. I dunno. He directed Dog Day Afternoon which is a far better movie than whatever this was. Here, Spader is a second year resident who bangs a patient’s daughter. She happens to be fighting with her sister over whether or not to pull the plug on their dad. Then a bunch of legal shit happens and I dunno, I just didn’t care at all about this! There are better movies!
